Committed to Keeping You Informed –
Update from the SETAC World Council

We are reaching out to you, our members and supporters, to let you know what we are doing during the COVID-19 pandemic and to offer our support. SETAC leadership is following the science and the advice of public health experts when making decisions about our organizational response and our greater SETAC family in these challenging times.

Based on expert recommendations, SETAC offices have implemented social distancing and staff are working from home. We are confident they will still be able to carry out the critical work your support makes possible. Equally important to us, in this uncertain time, is our responsibility to our greater SETAC community. We are still focused on progressing science through this pandemic and are monitoring the situation and its impact on many of our in-person events. We are assessing alternative formats for meetings and workshops and are adjusting on a continual basis. Please stay tuned for a message from the organizers of the SETAC Europe 30th Annual Meeting.

SETAC staff and governance will continue to advance our vision of Environmental Quality Through Science® during this period. We are hopeful that this time of isolation may produce great advances in our field, much like Newton’s discoveries while working from home during the plague. We will be initiating a campaign to promote science content and provide for online educational, professional development, and networking opportunities to support you through this time.. For intellectual stimulation in the meantime, be sure to review curated materials in our SETAC Science Corner and the SETAC Journals

We are doing our part, and we know you are doing yours to curb this pandemic. Please visit our website and social media channels, including TwitterLinkedIn, and Facebook, to learn more and receive timely updates.

Sincerely,

Helena Silva de Assis
